The Secrets, History and Magic of Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris

News

The latest news, rumours and updates from Walt Disney Studios Park.

A few months after Toy Story Playland opened, it was discovered that the type of flooring used in the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop queue line and loading area caused a safety issue on wet days. Therefore it was covered up with black rubber mats to prevent accidents. Only just recently a brand new green floor has replaced the original one which no longer causes any problems.

Also, the fabric-like parachutes have been replaced by a plastic material.

Happy Birthday Walt Disney Studios Park!

Today 9 years ago, Walt Disney Studios Park opened its gates for young and old.

Over those 9 years, the park has continued to grow and expand and will continue to do so in the distant and not so distant future!

Happy Birthday!

Posters for Disney’s Tangled (despite being called “Raiponce” in French) are featured on Disney Studio 1.

Over at Art of Disney Animation, 2 posters for the Wii game “Epic Mickey” are featured on the side of the building.

3 Years after adding more turnstiles on the left-hand side of the Walt Disney Studios Park main gate, another set of turnstiles is being added to the right-hand side, next to the park’s ticket boots.

The additional turnstiles are quite welcome during high peak moments during the day when long queues are formed by guests getting in the park.

Terrorific Night, the Halloween event at Walt Disney Studios Park, took place on Saturday 30 October.

During the event, several of the park’s attractions and areas were taken over by horror-like creatures.

Special attractions and events included:

  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: Panique au Studio (Panic at the Studio) featured a horror-like soundtrack
  • Armageddon: Crash Terror; a walkthrough with infested zombies hidden around every corner.
  • Terrorific Tram Tour: demons and creatures along the tram route.
  • Crush’s Coaster: Avis de Tempête (Storm Warning): with an adapted soundtrack.
  • Darkness Blvd: zombies welcomed arriving guests in Disney Studio 1.
  • Bienvenue au Whitechappel (Welcome to Whitechappel): La Terrasse filled with smoke, lights and creatures.
  • Les Ombres du Diable (Devil’s Shadows): fire jugglers to the beat of a percussion group.

Christmas arrived not so long ago on Front Lot. One of the rooms within Walt Disney Studios Store has been transformed into a Christmas Shop, including decorations outside the shop.

A large white arch is positioned over the main entrance and two “snow globes” featuring Disney characters in a seasonal setting are placed on the 2 side entrances.

The Christmas Store sells the seasonal merchandise available in the Resort’s other boutiques, including a numbered limited edition stuffed Winnie the Pooh.

Changes are being made to the roof of the Art of Disney Animation building in an effort to block the view of the Toy Story Playland attractions.

A photo location based on the actual ride, opened with the RC Racer back in August. However, a few weeks later, the photo location was suddenly fenced off and a few days later even completely removed. Rumours go that DLP Guest Safety deemed the prop unsafe for children and pulled it out of the park immediately.

Now more than a month later, only the bare “Hot Wheels” track is left and still no sign of a replacement.

This mysterious video hit YouTube yesterday.

It shows a guy wondering through Walt Disney Studios Park after closure and then running away for something, falling and being dragged back into the park.

Could this possibly another viral video for an upcoming entertainment event?
