The unthinkable has finally happened. The scaffolding in front of Disney Studio 1 is finally being taken down.
Disney Central Plaza member “LHDN92″ took the photo below last night showing a large chunk of the right corner being removed.
First reports say the entire façade has been repainted.

Television Tour building receiving new colours!
Monday 27th July 2009 in Playhouse Disney Live on Stage!, Production Courtyard, Refurbishments, Stitch Live!, Walt Disney Television Studios
The Television Tour building currently housing Playhouse Disney Live on Stage, Stitch Live! and the Disney Channel Europe offices is currently packed in scaffolding for a complete repaint of its façade.
It appears that a new colour scheme has been chosen for the building, using more a more earth tone yellow/orange and replacing the green by an orange/red tone.
Television Tour building refurbishment photos
Wednesday 8th July 2009 in Playhouse Disney Live on Stage!, Production Courtyard, Refurbishments, Stitch Live!, Walt Disney Television Studios
The refurbishment of the former Television Tour building continues. A printed canvas has now been added on the façade side of the Stitch Live! entrance.
Interesting to point out is the construction of a circular canopy on the right side of the building, where the mural is located. It’s currently not known what its purpose will be.
New billboard being installed on Disney Studio 1 (updated)
Friday 11th July 2008 in Disney Studio 1, Refurbishments
“Poppy the Monkey” reports live on our message boardthat this evening a new billboard was being installed on the scaffolding on Disney Studio 1. However, he confirmed that the new billboard is actually a photo of the original façade! A long and extensive repaint is apparently planned to take place behind it, so park managment opted to cover the bare scaffolding by an advertisement-free poster.
UPDATE: Pictures added below.
Cars billboard removed!
Tuesday 1st July 2008 in Disney Studio 1, Refurbishments
Last night, one of the brightest moments for Walt Disney Studios Park happened. The ugly Cars bill board has been removed! The top layer of scaffolding has been taken down as well. No word yet if another poster will go up next or if Disney Studio 1 will finally return to its former glory.
See the history of the billboard here.

CinéMagique repaint!
Monday 10th March 2008 in CinéMagique, Park Enhancements, Refurbishments
Cinémagique’s left side is currently surrounded by the famous green construction fences for a complete repaint. The purple border above the queue line has been turned into a white/crème colour and a large chunk of wall inside the waiting area has been painted purple instead.
Also, some of the light bulbs in the waiting area are being replaced by flashing strobe-lights.
More posters returning
Friday 8th June 2007 in Park Enhancements, Refurbishments
We’ve got word from a friend that more posters have returned on the lighting rigs through out the park. The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe posters have appeared near Rendez-Vous des Stars along with Armageddon posters near the same-named attraction.
Moderator Flor captured a photo of a Mary Poppins poster near Disney Studio 1 and in the distance Disney Channel posters can be seen near the Television Tour building.
Many thanks to CHT and magicforum moderator Flor.
With the help of a little bit of Carpet Cleaner…
Wednesday 28th March 2007 in Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, Park Enhancements, Refurbishments, Toon Studio, Toon Studio placemaking
Construction fences came down past weekend to reveal a freshly refurbished Flying Carpets over Agrabah. Ripped fabric, worn wood and chipped paint are all gone now and leave behind a brand new attraction, ready for its Toon Studio initiation.
But there’s more! The newly added Oasis planters are undergoing some changes as well. The planters have now been filled up with sand and the brown railings have been repainted silver.
The Kodak viewing platform has been repainted purple (used to be blue), but other areas like the “Green room” flooring (queue area behind the backdrop) have not been repaired (yet?).
Scraping the floor
Sunday 4th February 2007 in Front Lot, Park Entrance, Refurbishments
Work on the new flooring in front of Walt Disney Studios Park has been started as the concrete floor has been completely scraped off, leaving a bare concrete ground layer behind.
It’s expected that tiles or something similar will be used in favour of coloured concrete for a better durability.

Refurb beyond park gates
Monday 29th January 2007 in Front Lot, Park Entrance, Refurbishments
Refurb projects are sproucing up all around the Resort to get the parks nice and shiny for the 15th Anniversary celebration.
This time work has started in front of the Walt Disney Studios gates as the floor leading up to the park has suffered from the many people, heavy delivery trucks and salt during the freezing Marne-la-Vallée weather.
DLRP_bopazot has posted some photos on the MiceChat forums showing how guests are welcomed by another line up of construction fences, leading to the far right of the park’s gates.
Thanks to DLRP Today and DLRP_bopazot on MiceChat forums

The Storm Aftermath
Monday 11th December 2006 in Christmas, Disney Bros. Plaza, Park Entrance, Refurbishments
The Walt Disney Studios Park was an unfortunate victim of the severe storms that’d hit Europe last week. Most of the Christmas decorations got blown off, as well as the construction fences and the movie posters on the lighting rigs.
Poppy the Monkey, a regular visitor on the magic forum, posted some photos highlighting the damage at Walt Disney Studios Park.
