The Secrets, History and Magic of Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris

Toy Story Playland News

A few months after Toy Story Playland opened, it was discovered that the type of flooring used in the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop queue line and loading area caused a safety issue on wet days. Therefore it was covered up with black rubber mats to prevent accidents. Only just recently a brand new green floor has replaced the original one which no longer causes any problems.

Also, the fabric-like parachutes have been replaced by a plastic material.

Changes are being made to the roof of the Art of Disney Animation building in an effort to block the view of the Toy Story Playland attractions.

A photo location based on the actual ride, opened with the RC Racer back in August. However, a few weeks later, the photo location was suddenly fenced off and a few days later even completely removed. Rumours go that DLP Guest Safety deemed the prop unsafe for children and pulled it out of the park immediately.

Now more than a month later, only the bare “Hot Wheels” track is left and still no sign of a replacement.

We pointed our camera to Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop to investigate its visual intrusion around Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios Park.

We’re happy to report it’s barely visible around both parks.
